Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel

The jewel in the crown of the exclusive Fairmont chain of hotels, The Banff Springs was opened to the public in June, 1888. The Van Horne Room is one of the largest ballrooms in Banff, and with a custom patterned Axminster wool carpet, Cutting Edge Flooring was the natural choice for the project. Again, Mike was the lead installer on this high profile project.

The second photo shows the old carpet on the floor with the new carpet in rolls in the space.

 

 

 

 

The power stretchers and crabs are prepared to remove all of the pattern irregularities in the field carpet prior to attaching the border.

 

 

 

 

 

The border was power stretched and straightened to a string line stretched across the floor with the aid of a laser square.
